Chapter 2. Finding out what the truth really is?

I looked at Conner and he just started to strip.

“Hang on there boy! What’s the rush?”

I went over and made sure the door was locked while I waited for him to finish up.

Again I turned and tried to get as far away from him and those I spied watching him make a fool of himself. I didn’t know if I was more embarrassed for him or myself at this moment. I ducked into a bathroom for cover and thankfully it was empty. I immediately felt a reprieve from the audience that caught his words but only lasted for a second as he came marching in right after me. “You calm now or do I have to shove my arm down your throat to shut you up now?”

I turned to Caden who was bright red probably out of embarrassment. I could only imagine how I looked. In a quieter and calmer voice I spoke to him again.

“You have any fucking idea what you just did? I can only hope no one understood what you were shouting about out there! What the fuck is wrong with you?? You know I really liked you and your brother but I can’t deal with this shit! One second you are trying to get me all hot and bothered sexually and then you are running away for some unknown reason. Then I talk to your brother about it because I am so lost worried and confused over it that I don’t know who else to ask and apparently your spy on us and hear us flirting and go totally ballistic on both of us. You’re fucking whacked in the head Conner! Why don’t you take your brother and get out of my life before I get arrested or something!”

I looked at Caden and stormed out without saying another word. I headed away from where we came hoping no one would see or look at me. I never felt like such an ass before in my life and wished I could find some place to hide for a month. Finally after walking for ten minutes I was totally across the park and I sat on the bench and ran the whole thing thru my head trying to make any sense of it if that were possible. As I sat and reran what happened in my mind Caden slowly came over and sat next to me on the bench.

“Boy you two are hard to get away from! Please Caden just take off I need time alone.”

“But… I just want to…”

“Caden didn’t you hear me? Your brother just totally embarrassed the shit out of me in public and I don’t think I want either of you near me anymore. I will ask you nicely once more please go away.”

“Please Ryan…”

Again I cut him off!

“GO AWAY!” I screamed

“Don’t chase me away please!!” he cried.

“Okay I am listening but this better be good.”

He wiped his tears and cleared his throat. Then he took about a minute and I figured he was stalling so I got up.

“No wait I do! Honest Ryan. I just don’t know how to say it. Besides you probably won’t believe me anyway.”

I stopped.

“Okay Caden I am listening.”

I sat back down this time a little closer to him.

“Ok this is the honest truth I swear!”

“We both really like you and have been fighting over you some.”

That explains a little.

“And I don’t have any excuses for Conner’s behavior but I swear we really do. I don’t know why he teased you in the room and I don’t know why he has been so stupid around you he normally is as stubborn as I am. You could see that when we were arguing before when you took off.”

“Yes all that screaming and arguing it wasn’t right and it wasn’t for me. I am still amazed nothing happened and all of us didn’t get thrown out of here by security.”

“We can’t get thrown out Ryan.”

“Huh? I was totally confused now. Why can’t you get thrown out of this place? I mean if anyone acted that way they would have been gone in a second anywhere else.”

He was stalling again.

“Caden? Why are you so quiet further more why aren’t you answering me?”

“Because we own this place Ryan.”

“WHAT? You’re full of shit Caden!”

I got up to leave.

“NO HONEST! I am telling you the truth Ryan please listen. You asked I am telling you the truth.”

“How do I know you are?”

“Ummm… how can I prove it? I know… the room. How else would Conner have a key?”

He had a point. I sat back down. Now he peaked my curiosity for sure.

“You really own this place?”

“Yes. My parents are both dead they died in a car accident two years ago. The girl we told you was my sister is really but she is nineteen, not sixteen. She takes care of both of us. She was awarded us when she turned eighteen last year with almost all the family money going to her and good lawyers we have backing us they couldn’t say no to her. She basically runs this place and takes care of Conner and me. We have a trust fund that gives us a hundred dollars a week and when we turn eighteen we get… a lot more… a million each.”

My jaw dropped at that.

“It’s the truth I swear on my balls!” as he took a handful of them.

It was all coming back to me now when they introduced her to me the other day and so on they were lying about parents I guess…

“So when I met you and your sister the other day the only thing that wasn’t a lie were you and Conner’s ages?”

“Well a little more but basically yeah. Conner is almost thirteen and I will be twelve in a few months and we do live where I said… by you. If you were to see our house you would know right away we weren’t lying. Its huge, a mansion.”

It was starting to sink in. there is a huge mansion on that block too.

“So that is the real truth then?”

“Everything I have told you since I came and found you here. I’m sorry we lied to you Ryan but no one can know this about us I mean it’s hard enough with both of us being gay.”

“So you and Conner are gay? That makes sense too. Even though it’s pretty obvious to me with all you two have said.”

“Yes but I swear what I told you is true I have never done anything with him and same with him and me. But I totally like you so much and so does he.”

“But why does he keep running away Caden?”

“Not sure but you will have to ask him. Now that you know the truth I am sure he will tell you anything you want to know to keep you around. I mean if you still want to talk to him after he was such an ass back there.”

“So is everything else you told me true?” I kept asking I was in shock.

“Like what?”

“You know the stuff you said about stripping right here and so on?”

“Totally Ryan. I am not embarrassed by how I look at all and truth be told I do have a key to that room too so if you really want to I will prove it to you now.”

“But your brother will freak if he finds us in there.”

“Probably but he screwed up with you, I didn’t… his loss! I told you the truth and I promise I will not lie to you anymore. I just don’t know what he will do if he finds out you know. No one is supposed to know we are rich and own this place he might flip. Hell my sister will totally flip!”

I just shook my head. It was all starting to make sense now. All of it especially the room fully stocked with towels and stuff.

“There is one more thing I want you to know before Conner gets here or finds out what you know but it’s really hard to say.”

“Its okay just take your time and just say it.”

“Well… I kinda… awww what the hell…I got a crush on you and I really like you a lot.”

He turned beat red after he said that. He looked even cuter embarrassed. I started to laugh.

“That’s awesome Caden, no I am not laughing at you I am just laughing that you have a crush on me. No one ever said that to me before and it sounds kinda sweet.”

I reached out and put my arm around him and kinda gave him a hug. We were still in public so I made it quick but he got the idea. He smiled at me. What an awesome kid. At least I know where I stand with him.

“So what are we going to do about Conner? He likes you just as much if not more Ryan he just doesn’t have the balls to show it.”

“I do too! Fuck you Caden talking about me like that.”

Guess who is back! I got up and sure enough Conner found us.

“What else did you tell him Caden?”

“Everything Conner. Well almost everything.”

“YOU DID WHAT? Sis is gonna kill you no one is supposed to know we own this place. Err you did say that to him?”

“Yes he did Conner at least he had the balls to tell me and a few other things too. Don’t worry your secret is safe with me but as for you mister… your better get your act together or I don’t want to even talk to you anymore. You embarrassed the shit out of me back there and I don’t care if you own the freaking city of New York no one should scream anything like you did back there you are a total ass for doing that and I don’t even know if I want to have anything to do with you anymore!”

He pouted with my scolding of him. For once he was actually quiet and taking the scolding from me. I looked at Caden and he just shook his head in agreement.

“Well one thing’s for sure at least I know if I take Caden back to that room I will get something. What about you?”

He looked past me at Caden and headed over towards him. Caden sprung up off the bench so Conner couldn’t grab him but I grabbed Conner instead.

“Don’t even try it pal. Not unless you totally want to lose the little bit that’s left in me that likes you. Leave him alone.”

“But he told you… what did he tell you?”

“He told me enough but nothing that would hurt you because he said he doesn’t know much about your private side. So you can’t be mad at him he didn’t say anything bad about you at all even if I tried to get him to. He is your brother and he cares a lot about you even if you act like an idiot sometimes. Whether you believe me or not is up to you. The only thing he said was that you are gay and I kinda already knew that about you even if you can’t admit it out loud.”

I let go of him. He lunged for Caden and again I grabbed him.

“Are you that stubborn or just stupid?”

He was looking at me now I had his full attention.

“If you go after him I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore understand?”

Nothing, dead silence.

“CONNER DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?” I yelled at him.

“Let go of me. No one yells at me in my park and yeah I understand you.”

“I wouldn’t have to yell if you weren’t so thick headed! At least Caden listens to me and if it wasn’t for him I would be gone by now so you can’t be mad at him you should be thanking him.”

“Oh I’m gonna thank him alright. As soon as you are gone…” his voice trailed off.

“Okay… I give up. There is no talking to you Conner you are too fucking stubborn so I don’t need this. Go beat the crap out of him but I won’t be here to see it and neither of you will see me again even if I live a few blocks away from you. So go on go beat the shit out of him.”

I let go of him shoving him as I did so. He stood there and I turned and started walking away. Caden yelled to me. I stopped and turned to him.

“Caden, I’m sorry cutie but I can’t be around if he is going to be this jealous and stubborn or whatever his problem is, I can not be around him with that attitude. I don’t care how much cash you all have I don’t need this crap!”

I turned and walked away. I heard them both yelling at one another but I didn’t stop I walked out of the park and to the hotel. I got inside and this time no one was there. It was about 2pm now after all that crap I wasted four hours of my last day on vacation with those fighting losers. As cute as both of them are and as sure as I am I would get something off them I don’t need their shit. Let them kill one another at least I will be out of it. I turned on the TV and watched it for a bit. About thirty minutes later the doorbell rang. I got up and looked thru the peep hole and it was Caden. I ignored it and I was curious how he found where I am staying too but not curious enough to open the door. He knocked and started pleading to me thru the closed door.

“Please open the door Ryan, please? I am so sorry he was such an ass. Please come here; please let me in to talk to you?? Come on Ryan I am begging you. Another round of the doorbell and then silence. He finally gave up and left. I was torn up inside from all this crap and finally I ran to the door swung it open and yelled out his name. I looked down over the second floor railing and didn’t see him. I yelled once more and gave up. I went to close the door and I heard him yell ‘wait’ to me. As I turned I saw him running back up the step and then to me. Out of breath he ran into my arms and gave me a massive hug. Finally he broke the hug and asked if he could come in.

“Sure come in.”

“Thanks… I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am about all this Ryan. I hope that hug made you understand I am serious. I really care about you a lot!”

“I know cutie but its not you it’s your ass hole brother. I am tired of his crap and if I can’t have peace between you two then I would rather have nothing.”

“After you left I had a long talk with him and made him understand that we both need you in our lives. No one has ever stood up to either of us before and we aren’t used to it especially at the park. They are all afraid they might get fired if they say anything so they all hush up.”

“Well I don’t hush up Caden.”

“We know. Look I talked to him he understands that the only way you might consider coming back is if he behaves.”
