If You Only Knew By Dwendo Chapter 2: Dealing with my new love and power. I walked into the house and was greeted by my dad. I hugged him and then told both of them I had to tell them something important. We sat at the table and I tried to form the words to tell them about their freak son they now had. Good thing my sister isn't around. I don't need her knowing just yet. She would have the whole neighborhood alerted in an hour. “Mom, dad. The lightning did a little more then we thought.” “What do you mean honey? Mom had a look of deep concern on her face. Are you okay?” She grabbed my hand. I squeezed her hand and she pulled away and yelled in pain. “Oh mom, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to… That is what I mean. My strength is outrageous I found out by mistake before and I didn't want you guys to hear it from the street. I had a fight with Josh the school bully. He came up to me and knocked Reese down and tried to hit me. I threw him about 10 feet in the air and everyone saw it they were in shock as I was too. I don't know what else to say.” My dad just smiled and mom looked horrified. I didn't know what to do so I put my head down. Dad reached over and patted me on the back. “Come outside with me son. I want to see how strong you really are. This is going to be fun. I think.” He added. “Steve don't you make him hurt himself.” “Relax Beth. I just want to see how strong the kid is. Stop worrying so much. If he can do it so be it if not this is over.” “Well just be careful honey. Don't hurt anything.” “Mom.” I just gave her that look. “Okay pal grab the bumper of the truck and see what you can do.” “STEVE, NO!” “Will you relax Beth. Either he is or isn't gonna lift it. Either way it's not going to matter.” I did as my father asked. I grabbed the bumper of the Explorer and lifted. Without any problem at all I had it inches off the ground in seconds. It was easy. I let go with one hand and held it up with one arm. “Son of a bitch! Okay put it down before someone sees and well…” He had that proud look on his face like when I come home from school with A's on my report card. “Was that difficult Randy?” “No dad. It was easy. I am a lot stronger then that.” He just shook his head and turned to go back into the house. Mom said nothing just looked a little sick. “Mom you okay?' WE headed in after him. “I think so dear. This is all too much. Sit and eat dear.” I ate and dad went to make a call. “DAD! NO ONE GETS TO KNOW!” “But I was just calling your uncle.” “DAD! Please?” “Okay for now. I will keep this in the house.” “It's bad enough everyone at the ball field saw me throw Josh. I don't need the newspapers asking me questions just yet.” “Okay you have my word.” “Thanks dad. I finished eating and got up. “I am going to watch the game. See you both later. Love ya, bye.” “Bye dear.” “Sorry again about your hand mom.” “It's okay dear.” I called Reese before I left and he said he was on the way and would meet me at our usual spot on 4 th street. I was feeling really kewl and wanted to test out my new powers and thought process but I knew it wasn't a toy right now. Well maybe it's a sex toy but soon, not yet. There's Dave again. Never did get to talk to him before. “Hey Davie.” “Sup, strong man?” “Ha, Ha. Funny boy. You heard already.” “Yeah the word is out your Hercules. Is it true?” I grabbed him gently by the belt of his pants and lifted him up over my head in an instant. “What do you think Dave?” “Put me down! Don't drop me.” “Relax you pussy. I won't drop you.” “Pussy? What is the power going to your head already?” I could read his mind that he liked me and now he wasn't sure if I was stuck up or not. “Come on Dave. You have known me for years and I am not stuck up.” “Hey. I didn't say that. Can you read minds too?” I didn't know what to say. I bowed my head knowing he probably knew I could and now hated me. But he wasn't thinking that. “Noooo, not really Dave. I was only guessing and kidding with you.” “Yeah Brooks, I guess you were just kidding me. Hey, you going to the game?” Good he believed me. I am off the hook. “Yeah right now. How about you?” “Of course. I wouldn't miss these games, too important.” “Yeah I know. See you there then.” “Okay Randy, see ya there.” I didn't get any feelings from him about if he was gay or not. I guess the subject needs to be discussed before I can get any readings like that. But I could tell he liked me. That was kewl! Damn I better run or I will miss Reese. I started running and once again I was treated to a side effect of the lightning. I was fast. Faster then I ever was before! What else is gonna happen to me? I was in the street and I flew past a car and realized that I better slow down before more trouble started. I just hope the car I ran past wasn't anyone that knew me. I was just around the corner from Reese now and I felt something strange and I turned to see someone behind me. Not a threat or anything I just sensed someone's presence close by. I didn't even know the old man. He was just passing by me coming from his house. He looked at me and I read his mind and it was something about a grocery list and figured he was on his way to the store. I chuckled to myself about it and then turned the corner and saw Reese waiting for me and sitting on the curb. I figured it was time for a little fun. He was about a half a block away and I called to him. He looked up and I turned on the speed. Within seconds I was not only to him I was past him. I stopped and he ran up to me. “Any other surprises you have there? What's next you going to get a hard on and cum all over down town?” “Very funny pal. I know you're jealous but what do you want me to do. I promise I won't show off in front of you anymore.” “No. It's not that. Well yeah I am jealous but I don't care if you show off. I just wish I had a little of what you have. And I am scared for you.” “WHY?” “Because we don't know how long you are going to have these powers. They might go away tomorrow.” “Or they might last for ever.” I said. “Yeah.” He said softly and then he grew quiet. “Reese.” “Yeah?” He looked at me. “I love you.” He smiled. “I know.” “So even if I lose my powers tomorrow or in an hour that will never change. I found out the best thing in the world with this and I don't care if I have it or not as long as I have you around.” He gave me a big hug. I wanted him so bad and I quickly broke our embrace. “What? Why did you stop me?” “Look where we are. You're hugging me in the middle of one of the busiest streets in our neighborhood.” He turned beet red. “Oh shit! I totally forgot where we were. You are having a bad effect on me Randy Brooks! And I like it a lot.” I tapped him in the arm and we headed towards the field. “Randy, do you know anymore then before we left? Have you talked to anyone?” “Yeah. I met up with David.” “Is he gay?” I just looked at him. “Sorry. What happened?” “He already heard that I was strong and wasn't afraid to talk to me about it. I showed him how strong too. I grabbed him by his belt and lifted him up and no I didn't get any readings on if he is gay so get that out of your mind.” He pouted but I could tell he was just joking. “Oh fine then be that way. When I find out someone is gay I will tell you so you can go running to them and be their boyfriend.” “WHAT? Oh, wait your aren't serious are you?” “Duh! I just wanted to give you something to think about. The feelings I got from you told me straight out you want me and I didn't read anyone else on your mind.” “Yeah. I do.” “Besides Reese, what are we gonna do when we do find someone is gay? Approach them and ask them to join our gay club. I mean think about it. This can work for us but if we do it wrong it can really hurt us. Just because we find gay kids one day it doesn't mean they want to be found or want to have anything to do with anyone or us. We have to be really careful from here on out.” “Yeah I see your point. Just because we admitted it doesn't mean anyone else will want to. I guess we really got lucky in a way.” “I know I did.” “Thanks Randy.” “For what?” He couldn't say it but I got the idea anyway and I didn't even have to read his mind to get it this time. I grabbed his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Are you as excited as I am to do something later?” Again he looked at me. “If this game wasn't so darn important I would have asked you to already but I know you want to see it and I do too so… I guess that answers that.” “I know it does for me Reese. And the thought I just got from you goes double for me. I want to see you too.” Again he blushed a little. “Sorry. I keep forgetting to keep my mouth shut.” “No its okay. I am a little embarrassed but I really want to be with you later and I really want to see what your underwear is hiding.” “Are you sure you can't read minds too? I have been thinking that for weeks now.” “Nope can't read anything. That is just what I want!” “Damn! Sure hope my sister isn't around tonight. I have a feeling my room is gonna be filled with the aroma of sweat and cum!” “Randy! Let's not get gross. You don't have to go into details. I have a good idea of what to expect as it is.” “Good, enough about that or we will never make the game. Come on lets go it starts in a few minutes.” “Hey do you want me to sleep over tonight?” “Yeah that would be awesome. Then we can take our time and totally explore things.” “That just made it sound gross Randy! Don't go ruining it before we get started.” “Wimp!” “I am not a wimp you pussy.” He took off for the field and I chased him knowing I could catch him without trying but just having fun and not caring about anything in the whole world except baseball and my new love. We ran to the beginning of the park and then slowed down and walked trying not go gain too much attention but knowing it was going to come like it or not. “Are you ready for the attack Randy?” “Ready but not wanting!” “Yeah I know. Well here goes nothing.” We entered the area around the park and within seconds every kid that we knew or didn't know was coming at us like we were magnets and they were the metal. I knew that I was going to be bombed with questions again and felt bad for Reese that he was being ignored. I smiled at him and he seemed to understand but I could read different. He seemed to hate that I was getting all this and he was getting nothing. All I could think was wait till tonight pal and then we will see who gets the good stuff. Only problem was I couldn't tell him what I was thinking. I went on and answered a few questions and then asked everyone to let me be so I could watch the game. Surprisingly they did as I asked and I got Reese's attention and we went and took our seats at the end where no one was sitting for the moment. “I read what you were thinking before Reese and I want you to know that this will pass eventually, it has to. Everyone will know I am still the same guy and hopefully leave me alone soon. But I want you to know that no matter how much attention I get when we are out together. You will get yours tonight in my room.” He half smiled at me and I was puzzled. For the first time I didn't try to read his mind and couldn't either. I was getting a blank reading. “You did it Reese!” “What did I do?” “Just now whatever you did. It blocked my reading you. What did you do?” “Nothing much, just focused on the game and stopped thinking about you.” “Then that must be it. As long as I am on someone's mind I can read them but when they focus on something else I am pretty sure now that ends it.” “Is that good or bad Randy?” “Good I hope or can you imagine how crazy it would get if everyone's thoughts came into my mind. I would just totally lose it.” “I guess so. Come on lets watch the game. I want to see who wins.” ”Okay, who's up?” “Woods. He creamed the ball last game if he hits that well again tonight the Panthers will probably win easy.” “Guess we will see.” “Yeah.” We both shut up for a while and just watched the game. Occasionally a kid I knew would come over to talk to me about this thing and I tried to be as polite as I could but I was starting to get irritated over it. It was the last inning and tied at 3. Either team could win at this point and it was a good game as I had hoped for. Woods was up again and there was a runner on first with one out. He got the count full and everyone knew that one down the middle had to be coming but it didn't. I guess Fisher, the current pitcher didn't want to take a chance and he walked Woods. The manager was out talking to him now and I guess they were discussing getting out of this mess. The umpires moved them along and play resumed. The next kid was just as good as Woods when he was into the game. Charlie Averill. What potential he had but he was lazy. We saw him hit the ball a ton and other times look so bad you had to laugh at him just to get through a bad game. He clocked one into the gap and one run scored giving them the lead. The next two kids flew out ending their at bat. This was it for the Hawks either score or lose and almost fall into a three-way tie for first. This was what I wanted. The first batter grounded back to the pitcher. One harmless out. The next kid walked and their good hitter was now up. Storm Janic. He was born during a severe thunderstorm and I think his mom was a little wacky but that is what they named him. He is a good kid but a hot and cold hitter. I guess it wasn't meant to be today though because he grounded out to shortstop and was left on first with two outs. Their number 5 batter was ok too but he was 0-3 so far today. He got in the hole right away with a 0-2 count. Ball 1, then ball 2. He got around on what looked like ball three and drove it deep to center in the gap and it looked like it was going to drop in and tie up the game. Out of no where the right fielder Chris Jamison made a diving grab at it and came up with it in his glove ending the game and tying all of us for first. “Wow did you see that catch?” Yelled out Reese. “Yeah it was freaking awesome Reese. Freaking awesome!” “I know why you liked it Randy.” “Hell yes! Now we are all tied for first and we have a chance to finish there. Look at all the kids mobbing Chris out there. They are carrying him off on someone's shoulders. You would have thought this was a championship game or something.” “It was in a way.” “Huh?” “Well look at the standings now. We are all tied for first with 12-4 records and two games left for all of us. We play the Raiders tomorrow and then the Raiders have to play the Hawks. The Panthers play the Cardinals but they haven't won more then once this year so it's pretty sure that we will both be 13-4 when we meet for the final game. We still have to win both games but the Panthers will be the toughest of all and that is the last game of the regular season.” “So a lot can still happen next week.” “Yeah but first we have to get through tomorrow and I have to be careful not to hit the ball into the next county when I get up. This is going to be a chore!” He laughed at my comment. “Yeah the next county. Maybe if you get a hold of one you can hit Mason.” “You are really funny Reese. That's over 10 miles away.” “I know but I figured if we were gonna shoot for a distance we might as well get a good laugh.” “Oh, sorry. I was kidding too but sort of serious. If I get a hold of one tomorrow someone could be hurt or killed. I know the chances are small but still I don't want that on my mind. The regular game pressure is more then enough.” “Yeah well maybe later I can pitch you some and see how well you can control your swing.” “That sounds good. After the crowds clear we can come back. Hopefully no one will be around and we can try then.” “Yeah let's go do something I still want to know stuff about other kids.” “Me too. Let's go.” We walked the neighborhood looking for anyone for me to read. It was about 7:30 and we didn't have a lot of time but it really didn't matter until the field cleared out so all we could do was wait. We found one or two kids from school but they weren't even worth checking out. I tried to read their minds anyway but got mostly nothing. We decided to head back to the field at 8:10 and hope enough people were gone so we could get on the field and practice a little. We were in luck. The place was almost empty. Now all we had to fight was the darkness. We got about 20 minutes of hitting in and with Reese pitching scared I only got a few good hits and as I had expected they went a long way. Further then I had ever hit before. If anyone was watching they didn't say anything so I assumed I wasn't going to be found out for now. There will be more to come on this tomorrow at batting practice before we play. That should be interesting. In the past I just hit some lazy pop ups and a few line drives but the first one that I get a hold of from coach is probably going to clear the fence like these did tonight and that fence is 310 feet away at its deepest point. It was dark now and we took off for Reese's house to get permission from his mom so he could stay the night at my place. She said yes and we headed home. When we got there mom was out and my dad was watching TV. My sister was in her room and I am thankful it isn't next to mine. I don't share a wall with anyone so the likelihood of being heard tonight when I am with Reese is going to be low. I yelled hi to my dad and so did Reese and we ran up the stairs to my room and I shut the door and locked it. My dad won't care what we do as long as we are quiet. Don't get me wrong he always checks up on me but he is so kewl when it comes to privacy that sometimes I go looking for him to see if he is home. He still knocks even when my door is open a little. He's a great guy. Now mom, well I could be totally naked and she just barges in and the one time I was I turned red and yelled. That stopped her for a week and then she was back to doing it again. So if I want privacy I have to use the lock. My sister is the same way but don't think for a second if I walk into her room unannounced the world won't end. It always ends up with mom getting involved at some point but as I said as a sister and most of the time she is better to have around then some of the guys I know and smarter too. Well enough about that. I have got a semi-hard on that I might have to share tonight.
